Christopher Paolini is best known for writing the Inheritance Cycle, which consists of three lengthy novels including Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr and Inheritance.
Though Paolini is no longer a child, the gains he made during childhood are cool enough that he had to be part of this list. Paolini grew up in Paradise Valley, Montana, where he was home schooled for the duration of his childhood. After graduating at the age of 15, Paolini began writing the Inheritance series.

Although childhood success as an author is incredibly rare, Paolini became a New York Times bestselling author at the age of 19, with the second publishing of his first book Eragon. The book would later be turned into a feature film released in 2006, directed by Stefen Fangmeier. Paolini is now in his thirties. He still lives in Montana.
